In a joint venture with Petrofac – a British provider of oilfield services – for the construction of the DUQM refinery in Oman, Samsung Engineering has imposed stringent restrictions for the engineering, production and final tests of the whole project. PRO-DO-MIX has supplied various ATEX-certified components for the powder and liquid polyelectrolytes preparation.
The installation included 22 vertical agitators, 4 static mixers and 2 volumetric powder feeders. The agitators were installed in vessels used for preparing polyelectrolyte and tanks used for preparing reagents, such as biocide, antifoam, antifouling. We installed a volumetric feeder for preparing the powder polymer and a static mixer for preparing the liquid polymer to ensure direct in-line polyconcentrate dissolution.
For improved resistance against weather agents and environmental factors, all external parts have been painted based on C5-M procedures, suitable for highly corrosive environments. All expectations were met, and all tests (vibration, welding, painting) were conducted in the presence of the client and qualified external auditors.
